Accomplishments

Battle Stroke has worked across schools, families, youth groups, and local businesses to expand stroke awareness and prevention education in meaningful, measurable ways.

FAST Presentations & Stroke Ambassador

We have presented on the types, signs, risk factors and prevention strategies for strokes to 165 participants at retirement homes and other high schools in metro Atlanta.

Social Media Outreach

Our Instagram and TikTok with stroke education and healthy lifestyle content have garnered over 30,000 views.

Infographic Flyers

We created infographic flyers reaching over 1000 people locally and across the US.

Training Others

We educated 32 members of local Boy Scouts chapters on signs of a stroke and prevention strategies so that they could further spread this knowledge.

Good Vibes Ice Cream

We worked with Good Vibes Ice Cream Shop, a local business, to target our stroke education to teenagers and adults in our hometown. We held a social there where we educated attendees on recognizing a stroke and left stroke flyers for later customers.

Candy Grams & Morning Announcements

We passed out free lollipops with stroke education cards to members of our school community and presented daily over the morning announcements during Valentine’s week. This reached over 2,140 members of our school community.

CHOA Neurology Center Donation

Members of our team distributed 120+ bracelets and stroke education brochures to patients and families at the Children’s Hospital, directly targeting those who may be prone to stroke.

Stroke Awareness Red Day

In an effort to raise awareness on stroke, we held a red day with our school where everyone was encouraged to wear red.

Survivor Stories: Beyond the Stroke Podcast Series

We interviewed multiple stroke survivors on their journey of diagnosis and recovery and posted this on Spotify. Our podcast has gained 80+ views and counting. This series aims to transform stroke patients from a statistic to a human to help our teenage audience better reflect and connect.

Healthy Recipe Series

We aim to post healthy recipes on our Instagram and TikTok for those who are searching for a means to live a healthier lifestyle.

Parent Newsletter

By posting our stroke education content in our school newsletter, we reached over 4000 parents.

International Outreach

We understand that often the most vulnerable are the least targeted by our healthcare and education system. This is why we created pamphlets and digital stroke flyers in Bangla, Yoruba, and Gujarati. We sent these out on WhatsApp, reaching 673+ people directly. Many of these people reached out to us expressing that they forwarded this message to others because of how valuable it was.
